G Suite keyboard shortcuts

We all use the copy & paste shortcuts, probably on a daily basis. If only everything was that simple! Well, it is. Keyboard shortcuts are available for almost every action. We just need to get into the habit of using them. Considering my daily use of G Suite apps, the keyboard shortcuts below have huge potential to make me much more efficient.

For shortcut wizards, I encourage you to take a look at the settings within these apps because countless more shortcuts are available and listed. If you’re a shortcut newbie like me, I have listed some priority ones that I think will be most useful.

General

The shortcuts below are for Mac users. For PC, replace ⌘ with Ctrl and Option with Alt

You might need to activate keyboard shortcuts first. Go to settings and then scroll down the ‘general’ tab until you see the ‘keyboard shortcuts on’ option. Finally, click ‘save changes’ at the bottom of the screen.

Again, shortcuts may need to be activated in the settings menu. Follow the same steps outlined for Gmail above.

Consider how many times per day you use these functions and how much time you could save by using shortcuts. If you can’t remember all of them, just choose a few priority ones to get started. We’ll be Google ninjas in no time!

Which shortcuts are invaluable to you? If you feel I’ve missed any important ones, please add them to the comments section below.

    1. Hi Tima,

I’m glad that it’s helpful. I also need to make these habits. I like the one-key shortcuts (Gmail compose, reply, etc.). Those will be the easiest to remember. The others will take a bit more effort. Good luck and let me know how you get on!

      Best,

      Adam

  1. Hi Adam,
My favorite Google Suite keyboard shortcut has recently been introduced to Google Docs. It used to only work in Google Slides. It’s really handy when designing visuals like central idea posters.
